Growing

This year seems to have had lots of growing already, mentally and physically for the children.
Mentally for me.
The space between now and Elsie starting pre school is closing fast,
which means the space between now and Oliver starting school is closing too.

I'm feeling super positive about it all. It will be good for Elsie.
Oliver needs stimulating more than pre school can offer him, he needs school.
He loves to learn, he loves to be good at things.
I need it. I need that time to chill out, have a 'break'. I can work midweek.
It will benefit us all and this is the beginning of the a new adventure.
I'm excited!!

Whilst a lot of decision making is being done, we're still lapping up the now.
Enjoying as much as we can inbetween melt downs over getting dressed and not being able to play a puzzle 5 minutes before we leave to go to school.
I'll miss these days in 20 years, i know it!!

I'm linking up with Photo Friday over at Thursday's Child, Friday's Thoughts today.

Go check it out and link up your family photos of the week!!

I'm hosting next week too..

The sun has got it's hat on!

HIP HIP HIP HOORAY!!!

We can't help but feel eternally lucky everytime we switch the news on.
Homes and villages destroyed by this awful awful downpour of rain thats been going on since December.
Floods have literally taken over a hefty proportion of the country.
We have had our fair share of bins flying around and fence panels down,
but nothing like the west coast and thames valley have had.
And for that, we are so lucky, and constantly thinking of those poor families who have had their
lives turned upside down.

So when the sun peeped out this weekend for the first time in what feels like weeks...
This had to happen...

Happy half term, UK Mummies!!

A mother and son

A couple of weeks ago I photographed a beautiful little boy and his Mummy,
it was a surprise for her husband for V Day.
(they are away this week so there is no chance of him seeing this!!!)
Fast becoming one of my favourite outdoor shoots i've done in a while,
check out his cheeky little face and the love they have for each other!
With another little baby on the way they wanted to grab the chance of having some
pictures just the two of them....

Rain rain go away...

Ongoing now for a fair few weeks its beginning to take its toll on our usual outdoorsy life.
Fed up of getting wet. Fed up of muddy shoes on my carpet. Fed up of RAIN.
The cold? Fine. I can deal with that, wrap up warm.
Rain is not my friend.

We're busy fighting off snotty noses and chesty coughs right now...

We may have done a happy dance when the sun peeped out today!

We had a boot...

and we lost it...

Then we found it again...

and all was well with the world...

Pounding the pavements

Before I start, i'm just gonna say now that I am definitely not turning this into a fitness blog,
definitely not going to swamp you all with weight loss facts and before and after photos.

Fact is, I wanna get fit.

I don't want to be a mum on sports day who puffs her asthma pumps half way down the running track.
I don't want to be a mum of 30 and not be able to run around with the kids still.
I want to stay active, I want to BE an active mum,
I want the kids to look back on their childhood and remember the times
we all ran around the park playing 'it'.

So i'm doing it! I'm staying active.
I don't even really want to lose any weight, just tone up.
I've downloaded the most awesome app on the planet, and i'm fully
aware its probably totally 2009, but i'm jumping on the running bandwagon and i'm already hooked!
Couch to 5k.
Does what it says on the tin. Gets you off the couch, and out running.

The aim is to get you running 5k in 8 weeks.
I'm 2 weeks in and already feeling the benefits.
I feel more energetic. I already feel fitter than I did 2 weeks ago
And i'm completely loving the feeling of achievement after you finish.

If you wanna get fit, DOWNLOAD THE APP.
Couchto5k
Do it noowww.

Meanwhile...

We're house sitting at my Mums for a while, so we're lapping up the space and light in her house and enjoying different surroundings.

Sea air

I'm craving it lately,
nothing better than the wind in your hair and the salty taste in your mouth.
When we retire i'm insisting we live by the coast.
20 minutes away is just too far sometimes.
